World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade of an item upgrader mod can be used to increase the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can increase the rarity of an item level upgrade or mark Level and boost additional stats.
The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all the upgraded perks (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be costly, dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be altered to upgrade an item.
It can also be used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used as a gating requirement when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.
When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear, players can compare the levels of the item. It's an excellent indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it will be able to deal. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor is possible using the item level.
The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the full item level upgrade description, including its value. It is also accessible by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are many theories about how the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula which calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different advantages are valued differently and that gems found in sockets increase the item's value. This can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl, which is usually quite close to the actual Blizzard item level.
It's not the only thing that affects the ilvl of an item. The location of where the item dropped can also change its stats. For example it can increase the item's haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Stats on an item are a significant element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the Best item upgrade." The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods that are in turn increased by the player's skill.
Upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare tiers will be upgraded several times, at higher costs.
Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can provide the item additional damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.
At present, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.
In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which of the available stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat within the same range, unless it's an item that is unique or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.
This is another aspect that could be changed by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item basis and the item compare interface wouldn't show all possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the odds of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is particularly useful for early game runs, because players tend to put weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances, which increase with each item level. These can also be increased by using anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons come with the default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to increase the value of 40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140.
Moreover, certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be outfitted to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be bought from the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.
The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..
The performance of an upgrade is also affected by the Luck of that item. All items have an overall success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.
The upgrade overlays for items are displayed above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
