WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next upgrade level, in the event that there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item upgrader Mod (posteezy.com) and the current item level upgrade level. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via various methods which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was altered a bit, with some new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a particular item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less, even when they belong to a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of options. They can make use of Flightstones which are a general upgrade currency that is available to everyone, or crests, which are more specialized and are consumed during upgrades at specific item levels. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to remember is that the crests can only be purchased for gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests only have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, that will be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
