This Is The Ugly Reality About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade of an item can be used to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can boost the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and boost additional stats.
Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item upgrader mod by a specified amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its base stats improve in value. This is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, depending on the upgrader you choose and what kind of Upgrade Item (Gtrade.Cc) you decide to make. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be modified to upgrade an item.
Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips of items. It is also used to determine a gating condition when waiting to queue for dungeons and raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.
Utilizing the level of an item can help players compare the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's an indicator of the damage and its quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done using the level of the item.
The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are a few theories on how the calculation of the item upgrader's level is carried out. One theory states that the item level is determined by formulas that determine the worth of the stats of an item really are. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth and that gems in sockets increase the overall value of the item. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is often very close to Blizzard's real item level.
However, this isn't the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl as the size of the area the item is dropped into can change the value of its stats, for instance by adding an amount to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat mods that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.
Upgrades to an item may boost its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item upgrader kit. For instance, a gray or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare tiers will be upgraded several times with higher prices.
Affixes can also be used to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all shapes and sizes. Affixes are used to give items extra damage, special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs), or to distinguish them by adding a name.
Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.
Players can upgrade an item with specific stats, or reroll the affixes. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within the specified range, unless it is a unique item or a God roll from a boss in a raid.
This is another thing that could be altered by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or choosing which stats to boost. But as with base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item level, and the interface for comparing items would not display all the possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the strength of the properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is more useful in early game runs because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each item level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn with the Luck property, which has the default value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to increase the value of 40 luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.
Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be crafted to increase the damage of any skill that causes damage by 5%. These items can be purchased from the shop, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items can be expensive and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their items if it does not work.
The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..
The performance of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of the item. All items have an overall success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects could be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrade Upgrader CORE client config.
